The dysmenorrhea corresponds to intense menstrual pain, often described as pelvic cramps radiating down the back and thighs. It may be Primary (without underlying pathology) or secondary (related to conditions such as endometriosis or Fibroids).

The diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by chronic hyperglycaemia due to insulin secretion deficiency, peripheral resistance to its action, or a combination of both. The main distinction is that type 1 diabetes, linked to autoimmune destruction of pancreatic beta cells, and type 2 diabetes, combined with insulin resistance and insufficient secretion.

Physiopathological mechanisms

In the type 1, the absence of insulin results in cell failure to capture glucose, causing severe hyperglycaemia and risk of ketoacidosis. In the type 2peripheral tissues (muscles, liver, fat) become less sensitive to insulin. Pancreas compensates for initial hyperinsulinemia, but progressive depletion of beta cells leads to persistent hyperglycaemia.

Clinical events

Symptoms include: polyuria, polydipsy, polyphagy and Unexplained weight loss.

Social and economic impact

Importance of prevention
